Russian higher education oportunities presented at the Musaeus College in Colombo

On August 3, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Colombo participated in an annual presentation event at one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges in Sri Lanka Musaeus College (estd. 1891) aimed at informing students about the opportunities of getting higher education in Sri Lanka and abroad.

Addressing the audience, the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Sri Lanka, Director of the Russian Centre in Colombo Mrs. Anastasia Khokhlova, shared information on state scholarships providedd by the Government of the Russian Federation for foreign citizens to get education at higher educational institutions of Russia at the expense of the federal budget, highlightened the requirements for candidates and selection procedure.

"In the modern world of global integration, the majority of leading Russian universities offer higher education in various programs in Russian and English languages, both on a budgetary basis and on a fee basis. Russian higher education is acknowledged and well established all over the world and recognized by vast majority of the international community, including USA, UK, Australia and more than 120 countries of the world, so getting higher education in Russia is a guarantee of becoming a member of the community of top-qualified professionals whose skills are always in high demand", - she added.

Staff of the RCSC in Colombo prepared an informative multimedia presentation on higher education in Russia, outlining the main spheres of training and requirements for candidates for Russian Government scholarships.

In addition, the management of the College the Russian center with a separate room in which the staff and volunteers of the RCSC arranged further consultations, a photo exhibition dedicated to the student life of foreign citizens in Russia, prepared jointly with the Association of Sri Lankan graduates from socialist countries, and a stall of Russian culture where everyone could have a look through books and albums about the culture, traditions, history and nature of Russia, and see the real Russian folk craft items: nesting dolls, khokhloma, samovar, learning more about Russia.
